Overview

Using Paperman.

These Terms of Service govern your use of Paperman™, a desktop screen texture engine developed and published by DoublOne Studios Limited ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using Paperman™, you agree to these terms.

The Application

Paperman™ is available in two tiers.

Paperman Lite - Free

Available on Windows only. Usage of the paper effect is limited to one hour per day.

Paperman Unlimited

A lifetime license that removes usage limits and is available on both Windows and macOS.

On macOS, Paperman™ is distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store and is governed by Apple's Standard EULA in addition to these terms.

Licenses

Your license.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Paperman™ on your devices. You may not redistribute, reverse-engineer, or sell the application or any part of it.

Paperman Unlimited licenses are issued per individual. Sharing or reselling a license key is not permitted.

Purchases & Payments

A one-time purchase, no recurring fees.

Paperman Unlimited is sold as a lifetime license.

Windows

Purchased via Polar, our third-party payment provider. During checkout, Polar collects your payment details and, optionally, your name and email address for license delivery. We do not handle or store your payment information directly.

macOS

Purchased through the Mac App Store. Apple's payment terms and refund policies apply.

Refunds

14-day money-back guarantee.

For purchases made on Windows via Polar, contact us at help@doubl.one within 14 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund. Requests after 14 days are considered on a case-by-case basis. For Mac App Store purchases, refunds are handled directly by Apple.

Disclaimers & limitations.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Paperman™ is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the application will be error-free or uninterrupted. Use it at your own discretion.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DoublOne Studios Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Paperman™. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the software.

Intellectual Property

Trademarks, copyright & artistic works.

Proprietary Trademarks

Paperman™, "Make your screen like paper.™", "Your screen, softened.™", and signature paper texture names (including Classic Matte™, Whisper Weave™, Sunbaked Parchment™, Saddle Linen™, Painter's Press™, Mulberry Veil™, Vellum Mist™, Monastic Felt™, and Carbon Ledger™) are proprietary trademarks of DoublOne Studios Limited.

Copyright & Artistic Texture Works

All software code, visual design, website copy, documentation, and original paper texture artwork, patterns, and rendering effects are protected copyrighted artistic works of DoublOne Studios Limited.

Infringement & Criminal Offense Protection

Any unauthorized copying, extraction, duplication, or attempt to mimic or replicate Paperman's proprietary textures, visual rendering effects, brand copy, or software code constitutes copyright infringement and a criminal offense subject to statutory legal prosecution and civil damage claims.

Governance

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

DoublOne Studios Limited is a company registered in England and Wales. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

International Copyright Enforcement (Berne Convention)

Under the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, copyright protection and legal enforcement for Paperman's software, copy, textures, and artistic works extend internationally across 182 Contracting Parties: including India, China, the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, and Australia.
Copyright infringement, illegal cloning, and theft of proprietary assets will be prosecuted under local and international intellectual property laws within the infringer's jurisdiction.
