Is the free tier really free forever?
Yes. Free users get 1 hour per day of the paper effect with a classic matte paper texture, plus auto-theme switching. There is no trial period. The free tier never expires.
Is it really a one-time payment?
Yes. Pay $5.99 once and you own it forever. No subscription, no renewal, no price hike. Future updates on the same platform are included.
What does "Automatic theme switching" mean on Windows?
Windows doesn't have a native option to automatically switch between light and dark mode based on time of day or ambient light. Paperman adds that. Free for all users.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. If you purchased on Windows and you're not happy within 14 days, email help@doubl.one for a full refund, no questions asked. If you purchased through the Mac App Store, please contact Apple directly for refunds, as Apple's terms and conditions apply.
Why isn't there a free version for Mac?
At the moment, our free tier is exclusive to the Windows version. This is because our macOS app is entirely distributed and managed through the Mac App Store, which operates under different licensing models. Purchasing the Paperman app from the Mac App Store is equivalent to Paperman Unlimited as it grants you unlimited access.
How many Macs can I install this on?
As many as you like. The Mac version is distributed through the Mac App Store, so your purchase is tied to your Apple ID. Install it on any Mac where you're signed in.
What if I want to use Paperman on more than 2 PCs?
Your Windows license covers 2 devices at a time. If you get a new PC, log into your Polar customer portal, remove an old device, and activate your license key on the new one.
